40 Years Ago – Man Walks on the Moon

apollo_11_bootprintVia Wikipedia-

At 02:56 UTC on July 21 (9:56pm CDT, July 20), 1969, Neil Armstrong made his descent to the Moon’s surface and spoke his famous line “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” exactly six and a half hours after landing. Buzz Aldrin joined him, describing the view as “Magnificent desolation.”

Redesign the US Dollar

A website (DollarReDesign.com) has taken up the call to redesign the dollar bill. Some of these ideas are REALLY good, some not so much, others are just jokes. But check it out. I like the idea of getting away from the “dead presidents” model for the US Dollar.  Below are a few of my favorites:

Weird News Wednesday: BA-K-47

Source: LA Times

After feasting my eyes on the vicious beauty of the BA-K-47, an AK-47 replica made of bacon (and wire), I’m not sure whether to call the NRA, the National Pork Board or Ted Nugent. Made with two full cases of bacon by the geniuses at This Is Freaking Ridiculous, I’m thinking this crispy, greasy a-salt rifle could inspire a whole line of meat-based weaponry. A Bakalashnikov? A Bacolt .45? A TEC-Porcine? The possibilities are endless.

WOW!

So Many Ideas… So Few Resources

Over the past few years, I’ve had some really cool business ideas I’d LOVE to do, but I lack the connections and resources to pull them off. And in many ways, lack some of the knowledge to pull them off successfully. Maybe one of these days one will fit me just right and I’ll make millions (or even a few hundred thousand would be nice). But maybe, that isnt my course in life. Who knows!?

Weird News Wednesday – Good Samaritan Gets Parking Ticket

Via Ananova.com-

A Good Samaritan was given a parking ticket – after he pulled over to help a heart attack victim in Germany.

First aider Steve Schiltenwolf, 42, of Wolfratshausen, spotted the woman collapse in the street and pulled up to give her help.

“I could see something really bad had happened and did what I could to help. I knew the best thing was to just get her an ambulance and the last thing I was thinking about was where and how long I could park my car,” he said.

“I waited with her for the ambulance to arrive but when I got back to my car I found a traffic warden writing a ticket. She could see what I’d stopped for and I tried to explain it but it didn’t make any difference.

“I know traffic wardens have a reputation for being miserable and hard-hearted. It looks like it’s true.”
