Maggie’s Blog

She rolled over – again!

The weekend before Christmas, Maggie rolled from her back to her front! (She’s being rolling from her tummy to her back since she was about 3 weeks old.)  We’re excited b/c she’s only 3 months old!  So, she’s a genius, obviously. :)

She also has started giggling and laughing now. Not a lot, but once in a while she’ll let one slip.  She “talks” so much more now with her squealing and noises.

Hi Mommy & Daddy!

Hi Mommy and Daddy!
It’s me Maggie, here at Grandma and Grandpa’s (and Jenna’s too)
What a busy day.
After Grandma picked me up I stayed awake the whole car ride home.  Grandma then gave me something to eat and as I was eating, Grandma said something like, “It looks like Grandpa is getting up!”  Sure enough, here came Grandpa.  It seems he stayed home today because of his cold.  Grandma said he had some medicine that makes him non-contagious.  I have no idea what that means but Grandma said it was good.
Well, then Grandpa and I watched Sesame Street together.  Elmo was a cheerleader and I really liked that.  The letter of the day was E.  I kind of got tired during Sesame Street and took a 45 minute nap.  I think Grandpa continued watching Sesame Street though.  Grandma was going around the house dusting the furniture.
So, I got up and then Grandpa and I played on the floor for a while.  I can’t believe how much fun they have watching me roll over and over and over!  FINALLY, Aunt Jenna got up and she came down to play with me.  I got tired of that and let Aunt Jenna know that I was VERY hungry and Grandpa better get me a bottle NOW!
I ate 6 ounces of formula and then just stared and smiled at Grandpa.  He certainly is a silly person.  Grandma started to vacuum around the house, while Jenna made more cookies!
I sat in the bouncy seat for a while and then Grandma told Grandpa to take a shower.  WHEW!  You thought my diapers were stinky.  You should smell Grandpa without a shower.
Anyway, Grandma is walking around with me now and I am smiling at anything that moves.
I hope you are having a good day.  The snow stopped.  YEA!
Better go. (I think I have to poop!)
Maggie

What a night!

Yesterday I spent the day at Grandma’s. It’s so quiet there. Did you know I went to my Grammy’s in Iowa this weekend? It was very loud there and there were other kids around.  (They say this girl Dawn is my cousin, but all I know is that she kept trying to crawl in my carseat! And Aunt Chelle bought me a red hat to wear for Christmas! I looked pretty cute if I do say so myself.)  Anyway, yesterday I went to Grandma Grandt’s and it started to snow! A Lot!  Daddy came to get me and he said it took him almost an hour to come from church – it’s usually a long ride for me, but I know it’s not that long (although I’m not sure what an “hour” is).  Mommy called when she left work and it was a really long time before I saw her.  Daddy had dinner with Grandma and Grandpa, and I had a nice dinner.  Then we played for along time. I spent most of the day telling Grandma about my weekend, but she really acts like she doesn’t know what I’m saying.  I don’t know why, because I make perfect sense to me.  And then when Daddy came I tried to tell him all the things I’d done yesterday, but he just kept smiling at me and telling me I sounded so cute.  “Cute”?  Then he said he had to record me, whatever that is, on his small black thing he carries around, so that Mommy could hear me.  I just kept telling him that I’d had fun, but he thought it was the coolest thing in the world.

Finally we went home. It was very cold and these white things kept falling on me on the way to the car.  And the wind! It was sneaking under my cover-thingy, no matter what Daddy tried.  But the ride home was much longer than it usually takes us.  I fell asleep for a little while, but when I woke up we were still in the car!

Right after we got home, Mommy came home. She looked so tired and cranky.  I think she needed a nap. I know I always look better after a nap.  But she fed me, then ate some dinner herself, before we sat and watched that show she likes where everyone is really big.  Mommy told me that those people worked really hard to get healthy, so she was working hard, too, so she could be healthy for me.  I don’t know what “healthy” means, but if it makes Mommy happy, then I’m happy. I like it when she smiles at me.

She’s getting big!

Email from Maggie: “Hi Mom and Dad”

I received this email from Maggie on Wednesday, when Grandma Grandt was babysitting:

Hi Mom and Dad,
Well, I thought since I had some time while Grandma folds my diapers I would email you and ask how your day is going??????
We have had a good morning. I got to see Grandpa before he went to work. So he played with me alittle while. Then grandma took over. We have played alot and I have been tellling her alot for stories. She says she does not understand my babbling, I can’t understand why she does not understand since I know what I’m talking about.
I have eaten really good this morning. And I took 2 short naps so far.
OH, Mom I have a question. Have you been eating gassy foods lately????? I have been real gassy today. I feel fine and I’m not irritable but boy I”m I gassy. LOL
We are spending the rest of the day in the basement since Grandma has to do laundry today and she said that she is tooooo old to always do the stairs. Soooooo my toys are down here and the only time we are going up stairs is to take a nap in my bed. While she lays on the couch.
Drive safely home Mom. Take your time if the weather gets bad. Right now it is sunny and no snow.
See you after work Dad.
Love you both very much
Maggie
XXXXXOOOOO

6-7 Hours!

Wednesday night I slept from 10pm to 5am without waking up!! And last night I slept from 11:30 to 6am without waking up (and I only woke up b/c Mom needed to feed me before she burst! Otherwise, I would have kept sleeping. I was tired). Yay!!  Mommy and Daddy keep telling me how proud they are of me, but I don’t get it. I’m just sleepy.

Maggie Update

Maggie is now 2 1/2 months old. She had a checkup 2 weeks ago and is now 10 lbs, 22.5 inches long. She is in the 25% for weight and 50% for length. All I know is that she’s switched up to the next size in clothes. She is getting so big. :)

Thanks Chad
