The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight in Lego!
The REAL Dark Knight Trailer…
Today is the feast of St Dorothea - a day when snow is traditionally expected.
And guess what? Here in Chicago, we’re getting 6-12 inches today.
Coincidence?
Jason’s scolding me on getting too excited too quickly. I want everything figured out with the baby - but that’s how I am, even when I KNOW that you can’t plan everything. But he’s concerned that if anything happens, I’ll be even more devastated if I have a lot of things planned and purchased.
What are we looking at? Well, I already know what crib I want - from IKEA. We’re going to use his old dresser (and was Jason’s changing table as a baby!) for a dresser/changing table. I want a co-sleeper for the early months while breastfeeding. I know what carseat I want - Chicco KeyFit30 in Race. I’m not sure with high chairs or strollers yet, but I have some time. I do want a backpack carrier like my brother has for his son.
Essential items to have by the time of birth:
Carseat
Crib/Co-Sleeper
Pack n’ Play - I know which one I like and b/c we do go back and forth between here and my parents’ I’d like one right away.
Clothes
Diapers (and I want to use cloth - which will have to be another post!)
Breastfeeding accoutrements ![]()
Baby first-aid kit w/ thermometer, etc.
I dont’ know if I want to have showers - if people are planning them, I’m not assuming or begging for one! - before the baby is born. That would be hard to have ALL of those items if something happens. AND we just don’t have the space in our apartment. Hmmm.
I’m just rambling now, but that’s how my brain works…
Had my follow-up visit with the ultrasound tech this morning. Baby is now 20mm long, or 2 cm.
And the heartbeat was 184 bpm. They said these were all good and right on track with the dates. So, everything looks really great and I feel a bit better. ![]()
Me? - My jeans are starting to feel too tight, especially when zipped! LOL. Have been looking online at some stores for maternity clothes, including dresses - have 3 weddings this upcoming season to attend! And I’ve found some good things at motherhood.com under their Plus Size section. Also wanting to get a BellaBand, but I’m going to have order that on another site, I believe. With the Band, I’ll be able to wear these jeans for a little while longer. Lane Bryant’s maternity selection is excellent, but just like everything else they have - very expensive. Gift cards are coming out! But probably on only a few pieces. The bulk of what I buy will probably come from Motherhood. So, anyway - that’s what’s with me. ![]()
