Latest Ultrasound Picture

I promised I’d share, so here it is. This is the picture from our close-out visit with Doctor A last week (click on the image and it gets bigger) . :) A pretty good profile shot. The baby was sleeping, apparently, because s/he wasn’t moving. But there was a good heartbeat, so nothing to worry about! You can make out the head, nose, lips, even the eyes and ears seem visible. too cute already! :) 11 Weeks, 4 Days

Close-out visit to Doctor

This week was our “close-out” visit w/ our current doctor.  He only monitors the pregnancy for the first trimester, then he sends his patients off to OB/GYNs.  He’s a great doctor and I hope that I will meet someone I can refer to him.  Today was also our last weekly ultrasound. I know we won’t have that with the new doc.  The baby was sleeping today, didn’t move at all and we got some good profile pictures.  Too cute!  S/he is 41 mm long and the heartbeat was 162bpm.  Everything right on track according to the tech.  Doctor A reviewed everything and we got a copy of my records to take to Doctor B.  Doctor A was very happy with everything and thought we should have a “routine pregnancy” for the duration.  We visit Doctor B for the first time next Friday morning.  I’m excited about that, just for a change.   Me? Feel ok. Bought a couple items of clothing, but no maternity pants yet and I haven’t bought my dress for the summer season yet. :)

Another Week

At my last ultrasound, I believe, before I switch doctors we got to see the baby move! It was moving its arms and its legs, trying to get comfortable the tech said. It was so cool. The little baby twisting and moving. On the drive home I was still so excited about it, but then I said to Jason, “It’s so cool, but at the same time really weird! That’s a completely separate being and it’s LIVING INSIDE ME.” Almost like a parasite, which I suppose is what a baby is. :)
I can’t feel the movement yet; they said I probably won’t for another month or so. But just to see it was so cool!!

Baby is 31mm long and the heartbeat was at 164bpm. I asked if it was ok that the heartbeat went down, b/c last week it was at 188 or something and the tech said that the 180s was actually probably the topping out point and it would now come down and start equalizing out. So, 164bpm was perfectly normal.

Got a book at the library over the weekend called “Fearless Pregnancy” and I think I need to buy a copy for myself and then give copies to everyone I know who gets pregnant. It covers everything that people worry about and what pregnancy books get moms freaked out over (hair coloring, painting a room, pet cats, what they eat, prenatal vitamins & morning sickness, and just EVERYTHING) and it told me the Fear and then what the actual truth was. It was so liberating to know that the little things really are just little things! And it gave things to talk about with your doctor and all sorts of useful information. It was co-written by an OB/GYN, a midwife, and a mom. And because I’m a spaz and a worry-wart, it really was helpful. I haven’t felt so free and calm in a long time. :)
Next week we have our “close-out” appointment with the doctor that has been observing me this trimester. Then the following week I already have an appointment with a new doctor. So, we’re off and running! Finishing up week 10.

Hope You Dont Live in These States

Do you live in the following states, districts, or territories? Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Alaska, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, the Virgin Islands, Maine, and Connecticut? Well, you dont matter. It’s not me saying that, it’s Mrs. Clinton.

This from the Clinton Campaign

“‘Could we possibly have a nominee who hasn’t won any of the significant states — outside of Illinois?’” Chief Strategist Mark Penn said. ‘That raises some serious questions about Sen. Obama.’”

So… now we know where Clinton REALLY stands. She only cares about the big important states. All those “minor” states like Colorado, Minnesota, Washington, Missouri, Virginia, Maryland, and Georgia are.. well, just states that just simply don’t matter. Their people are not “significant” contributers to this country.

So, the people of the US Mint, Target, Best Buy, Microsoft, all the federal workers based around DC, the residents of the states where 5 of our first 7 presidents came from, oh and the home of Coke, CNN, and the Weather Channel. Yea, those states don’t matter. They didn’t vote for Hillary.
