Announcement: Another Baby is Coming!

For those who may have not yet heard, we are expecting a child again, due in September.  It is with mixed feelings that I go into this pregnancy. Will I have another miscarriage? What about an ectopic pregnancy again?  What will I do if I lose this one?  And at the same time, I’m so excited.  So… this is the place to come for baby updates, if you are interested. If not, just read our other 2 blogs - I’ll keep baby talk to a minimum there.

We found out we were pregnant on January 2nd, and have been visiting with the doctor every week since.  This is the specialist who did the emergency surgery for my ectopic pregnancy in October. We will probably be with him for another month or so and then he will help us find a new doctor (my normal OB/Gyn has decided not to do deliveries anymore).

Hurdle 1: My progesterone levels were at 19, as of January 5th.  With the 1st baby (Jan ‘07), they never were higher than 6. With the 2nd (Oct ‘07), they were never higher than 9, WITH supplements.  What they like to see is 15. So, we’ve reached it! One thing down.

Hurdle 2: The baby has implanted in the uterus - in the right place this time! Hurdle #2!!  We joked the last time that it was a lazy baby, got to the fall. tube and said, “That’s it! I’m not going any further!”

We have another ultrasound tomorrow and they said we MIGHT hear the heartbeat!  We have a few interesting and trying days ahead. Jan23rd will be the 1-year anniversary of losing our first child. If I can through that and this one is ok, I will feel marginally better.

Prayers are welcomed!

Obama’s Accomplishments More Substantial than Clinton’s

Hillary Clinton (and her hitman husband former President Bill Clinton) have been claiming Obama is inexperienced and not ready to lead, well… they aren’t exactly right. In fact, way wrong!

Obama was a community organizer and led a voter-registration effort in Chicago that added tens of thousands of people to the rolls. He was a civil rights attorney and taught at one of the nation’s premier universities. He helped pass complicated measures in the Illinois legislature on the death penalty, racial profiling, health care and more. In Washington, he has worked with Republicans on nuclear proliferation, government waste and global warming, amassing a record that speaks to a fast start while lacking the heft of years of service.
