I just wanted to inform everyone about Melissa. As many of you know she was in the ER the evening of October 27th with some abdominal pain related to her recently diagnosed ectopic pregnancy. After a few tests they found nothing wrong and sent her home. The following Monday evening (Oct 29th) at 6PM she began suffering from VERY significant abdominal pain (9 on a scale of 10).

I immediately took her to the ER at St. Alexus. Once again, after several tests they found nothing wrong, but she was still in sever pain. Her doctor personally came in to see her and was fearful the ectopic pregnancy may burst… which is potentially deadly. Despite all the tests saying she was fine, he said his “gut” feeling was they needed to operate and remove the pregnancy.

At 12:10AM on Oct 30th she went in. About an hour later the doctor came out and said she was ok, but he is very thankful they did the surgery. Between her last ultrasound they preformed and the surgery, the eptopic pregnancy had burst. Had they not caught it soon enough, she may have died. Thankfully she is ok and returned to work today.
